COMMISSIONED TRIPTYCH PAINTING: DAYDREAMER

I commissioned this piece for the master bedroom - I wanted a dreamscape that murmurs sexuality, like a soft breathless voice in your ear that is both delicate and yet heavy with glowing desire. The work is in equal measures sultry and inviting, but still gives the viewer plenty of space to feel comfortable in its presence. It is tastefully and subtly blatant, if such a tightrope can be imagined — the kind of piece that I enjoy showing to others. Every aspect of this commissioned work was bespoke, and expertly guided by Megan — from the warm colour palette offset with strong blacks, to the detailed composition of the figure, her posture and lingerie attire, to the design of the work as a triptych which perfectly matches the width of the king-sized bed. A commissioned piece like this is a journey — Megan's professionalism meant that I trusted her judgement, and she presented me with meaningful design choices and check-ins throughout the process.

ORIGINAL PAINTING: COSMIC PRIESTESS

I first saw Cosmic Priestess when I was looking at Megan’s artwork while in the search for an artist for my first tattoo.  She is one of the reasons that led me to choose Megan.  I was completely drawn to her image.  She emits this feeling of power, majesty and even magic.  It just gives me the shivers!  It’s a couple of tattoos and a little time since that date, but I can happily and very proudly say that I now finally have her in my home.

It’s hard to describe in words how I feel when I look at her.  She is hung where her eyes are at my eye height and I often just stop in my tracks when walking past her and stare into them.  They are totally captivating.  I feel somehow connected and empowered and it’s like we have an understanding, yet she still has so much mystery yet to be revealed.  I just love her.

ORIGINAL PAINTING: LYNN CANYON MAGIC

I fell in love with ‘Lynn Canyon Magic’ for two reasons. The first is the way that the layered marbling of spray paint on oil offers this acute depth of image that seems to shimmer and change depending on the light and your position in the room. The second reason is that no matter where I roam, this painting always brings me back to the cool, dark, mossy, and lush Pacific Northwest forest that will always be my home. I purchased this during a period of transition years ago, and today it still gives me just as much happiness to be able to carry this capture of home with me wherever I go.

COMMISSIONED PAINTING: SYDNEY SKYSCAPE

This piece was commissioned during lockdown, based upon a series of photographs that I had taken whilst on a walk around Mrs Macquarie's Chair on Sydney Harbour. As a child, I would sometimes join my father in the early morning on various city building sites he was managing — it was a treasured memory, and left with me a lingering love for Sydney during its quiet times— early mornings or late nights, when there is no traffic or people... or, as it so happens, during lockdown. This piece was designed for my lounge room, scaled to fit above a long black leather couch. The strong spatial focus on the sky and water emphasise the great Australian character of our landscape, which dwarf our city structures; and the pastel colours beautifully offset the blacks and greens (I have lots of plants) in the lounge room. I wanted a signature piece that spoke of my love for this city — when I wake up I can see it directly from my bed, and it puts a warm smile in my heart. There's quite lovely detail in the cityscape when you look up close, and the bold skyline attracts and carries your eyes when viewed from a distance.

ORIGINAL PAINTING: ANTICIPATION

I had no idea how much impact art has in my life until I the very second I saw this incredible piece from Megan. From the moment I saw it, I knew I had to have it hanging on my bedroom wall. This feature piece captured my attention and evoked emotions in a way I didn't think art could. I have spent many hours lost in the intricacies and passion of the artwork. This artwork has totally transformed my bedroom by adding an element of soul and wonder for me and has made it the most treasured room in the house. The entire experience of working with Megan has been pleasant and pleasurable, I can not recommend her creativity and services enough.

FINE ART PRINT: PERSEVERANCE

I am the daughter of a strong woman, her example helped me raise three strong daughters. I have fought many battles myself, one took five years to win. This piece evokes feelings of strength, beauty and feminine power, a woman who won't back down. This describes the females in our family to a T.
